![]() ![]() Please help me as I am trying desperately to make this work. For this the IR blaster can be connected to the eHome IR tranciever or the Vulkano/Hava player. The IR blaster is connected to Vulkano/Hava and the player has on screen remote.Ģ) STB, which is set top box. It is the remote trying to emulate with IR blaster.ġ) Vulkano/Hava player. What I want to do isġ) Use the Eventghost to map the MCEremote.Unknown****** to MCEremote.Num1Ģ) Use Eventghost to capture all the STB remote code(unknown) to emulate mce remote. Play, pause, etc is not working as plug n play. The problem is only the number buttons and volume are working. The mce remote shown in the above picture working as plug n play, that is without Eventghost. What I want is to use my set top box remote to work with eHome IR Tranciever. The mce remote code is captured as what you have stated, that is if number 1 button is pressed, it it showing as MCEremote.Num1. NB: I think Microsoft MediaCenter can control STB by default, using an IR emitter, maybe you can also look that way, it might be easier if you use this software Note that once you have recorded the pronto codes for your SB, you can use any remote to control it, or even use a webserver to control it It detects infrared signals from remote controls and translates these signals into control information that the computer can use. Then, for each IR signal received from your remote in Eventghost, you make a macro, with a transmit IR action containing the desired pronto code. The eHome Infrared Transceiver is a piece of PC hardware built directly into a computer. So what you'll have to do is record all the pronto codes for the STB remote that you want to use, link the tranciever to your STB IR : you have 2 jack outbut on the back of the tranciever, if you have a ir input on the back of your stb (like in many HC amp), you simply use a mono jack cable, if you don't you need an IR emitter or "IR-eye", it is a jack cable with a led at the other hand that you stick on the IR LED of your STB. You can do this with eventghost and the provided MCE receiver plugin. Now you just have to try to see what type of device you own.If I understand correctly, what you want to do is control your STB through Eventghost with the MCE tranciever. I'm confused because on the Hauppauge site for the PVR USB2 I don't see any port on the WinTV device to plug the blaster emitter.Īnyway, if you have a Hauppauge blaster you will make it work through SageTV natively (Hauppauge software needed) if you have a MCE Hauppauge branded blaster you can make it work too. SageTV is able to use the Hauppauge blaster natively. There is a Hauppauge software for handling the Hauppauge blaster (this software install the driver and a utility to choose the device that will be used with the blaster). If for some reason it won't work for my setup, please let me know? Is this possible? I am around briefly tomorrow morning and then i leave for the weekend, perhaps you can let me know in morning if yes, and i will donate by paypal and then you can help me soon?įirst i see that your software requires net 3.5, which i don't have installed and do not want installed UNLESS the whole setup will 100% work as i described above - i have XP SP2 and SageTV 5 I just downloaded you free software, but if you will agree to support my attempt to get it all working, I will gladly donate to you at your site I downloaded the two IR drivers that aredescribed at the forum link you gave below, but I am not sure now what to do I recently switched to Dish Network, and I need to use the IR Blasterīut simply plugging in the IR Blaster and hooking it to the IR window does not work, so i found this forum and your software I had been using SageTV with my WinTV PVR USB2 and cable (using the winTV tuner) and it worked perfectly I continue to get the unknown device in the device manager. It continues to give an error (Red X) for an unknown device. The computer discovers the receiver and tranceiver receiver with no problem at startup. I have tried uninstalling, shutting down, reconnecting multiple times. ![]() Try my software (see signature), it may works with your device and feature a SageTV channel change plugin. In my Device Manager the eHome Infrared Receiver (USBCIR) is recognized. ![]()
